THE INSTA-SCANDAL ERA MEETS THE MAINSTREAMING OF CRAZY
I don't think things are really going to get as absurd as this Washington Times story suggests that they could, but, hey, you see the potential, don't you?
Source - Rahm Emanuel involved in Cain sexual harassment accuser attacks
Herman Cain's campaign is revealing suspicions about who is behind the story regarding the former unidentified employees who accused Mr. Cain of sexual harassment in the late 1990's.
According to a source who is friends with the Cain campaign, not only is the Rick Perry campaign involved but also the Mayor of Chicago and former Obama White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is likely involved with the sexual harassment accuser attacks. A friend of the Cain campaign believes a National Restaurant Association (NRA) employee out of the Chicago office leaked the story to the Perry campaign via information and influence from Mayor Rahm Emanuel's office....
If Emanuel or anyone who works for him actually were involved in this link, that would show even worse political judgment than anyone's ever accused Rahmbo of, because Cain, whatever the polls say now about head-to-head matchups, is the most beatable GOP presidential candidate out there, and is an embarrassment to the party as long as he's in the race.
But do you see the potential for what scandals can be in this miserable era of American cultural decline? Not only do the Internet and the 24-hour news cycle spread tidbits at lightning speed, but the post-rational lunatics who dominate our political life may make utter nonsense into conventional wisdom regarding this story. Why should it necessarily stop with an accusation against Rahm Emanuel? Blame ACORN! Blame George Soros! Blame Frances Fox Piven! Bring Glenn Beck and his whiteboard back to Fox to do a pay-per-view special linking this whole scandal to Occupy Wall Street and Anonymous! The possibilities are limitless! And if any take root, large percentages of the public will actually believe them! Could there even be congressional hearings?
And wait till we have some actual documents in this case -- every pixel of ever PDF is going to be scrutinized for digital watermarks generated in the bunker of a Muslo-socialist sleeper cell in Chicago! Or Sean Penn's laptop!
If our society is in an irreversible decline, maybe we'll at least have some fun watching it destroy itself.

The poor pizza guy...
It's all the fault of the Liberals! They were out to get him from the very beginning. Liberals don't like pizza made by black men, because they're racists.
You know which Liberal Fascist also loved pizza?
Mussolini, that's who!
Benito used to order a pie with 1/2 double cheese and 1/2 extra pepperoni.
The Fuhrer, a vegetarian, would eat the cheese half, and Mussolini would eat the pepperoni side.
Then they found out Haile Selassie made the pies, and so, since to their shame they liked the schwartze untermenchen's pies, to discredit him, they tried to set him up for sexual harassment by using Eva Braun as the decoy, and Heile had to return to Ethiopia.
This wasn't good enough for the embarrassed Benito who had recommended the pies, and so, with Hitlers help, then waged war on the poor country just like the Liberals are on Cain and the Republican Party.
You can look it up!
Nice. I'd totally click "Like" if Blogger comments would let me.
(And speaking of comments: a week ago you couldn't comment, and now you seem to be the only person who does. What happened? To everyone else, I mean.)
I have no idea!
Maybe the new format and the 3 weeks you spent in prison away from your blog affected your readership? :-)
I also miss reply, and the emoticans. I never thought I'd say this, but I actually MISS Echo!
Steve,
Maybe you need to make comments on other blogs and link to your "New & Improved!" website?
Advertise, my man, advertise!
It's been a busy week.
Not that either one qualifies for sainthood, but - this anonymous source "who is friends with the Cain campaign" (some singular prose, there) seems to imply that Emanuel & Perry are somehow cooperating. I for one find that an entirely incredible hypothesis.
I've been commenting. Am I invisible? Some days I feel like I am, at least to my children (other days I wish I was, at least to my children).
I spy you, Kathy... but then I'm neither SteveM nor one of your children.
:-)
I see you now....
