The not-always-nice matriarch of the Bush clan slips in the shiv, subtly:

Sarah Palin may not have the biggest fan in former first lady Barbara Bush.

"I sat next to her once. Thought she was beautiful," Barbara Bush said. "And she's very happy in Alaska, and I hope she'll stay there."

Bush, along with her husband, former President George H.W. Bush, spoke to CNN's Larry King in an interview set to air Monday....

This is just the latest hit on Palin from the Bushies, presumably at the behest of Karl Rove, who's attacked Palin a couple of times recently. In addition to that, there was ex-Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson's Washington Post column "The Sarah Palin Problem," as well as an anonymous report, said to be from a Bush insider, that "Naming Palin makes Bush think less of McCain as a man."

More to come, I'm sure.
