STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF FAKE GIANTS

Congressman David Dreier (R-Calif.), before a vote to extend tax cuts yesterday:

The founder of my party, Abraham Lincoln, said it best, although I guess he didn't actually say it, but he is always credited with saying that you can't pull up the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.

But people think he said it, so it's almost as if he did say it. Makes sense to me!

(No, Lincoln didn't say it.)

Dreier also said yesterday that he was "born to cut taxes."
