CARL PALADINO STILL THINKS HE'S GOING TO WIN

At least he still thinks he's going to win the Republican gubernatorial nomination in New York, even after it was revealed that he forwarded large numbers of racist and pornographic e-mails.

It's a crazy year. Maybe he's right.

From the press conference he held yesterday (non-embeddable video at the link, from The Buffalo News):

Q: Do you fear this will cost you the Republican endorsement?

PALADINO: Not at all.

And it's clear from the video that he means it.

And in a local news broadcast, you can watch him go all somber and conciliatory:

I confess to being human, and imperfect, as all God's children are....

To any of the ladies I've offended, I apologize. I say this to the men out there who have never opened a graphic image on the Internet, don't vote for me. For those who have I welcome your vote.

Wow. I'm touched.

More philosophy, from that Buffalo News clip:

We're all human. We all have frailties and we all have our little moments in life.

That's deep. And yes, it's true. Though some of us apparently have a few more moments than others, Carl.
