NO COMPLETE GAME FOR BUNNING

Well, so much for the last post -- Bunning took a deal and the unemployment extension passed.

Bunning's amendment failed. I'm not surprised that every voting Republican voted for it, as did Ben Nelson, Blanche Lincoln, and Joe Lieberman, but, um, Russ Feingold? Why? Any ideas?

And I'd be curious to know (see the comments to the last post) what you think about Aimai's contention that Dems screwed up the messaging, and my (unusually non-pessimistic) sense that they didn't....
