I missed the Howard Dean-Ralph Nader debate today, but I heard excerpts on All Things Considered.
In one clip, Ralph referred to "the Democrat Party."
That's it. That's the shibboleth. I've never heard anyone say that who wasn't a Republican. Maybe I still haven't.
Anyone who still thinks Nader's enemy is "the two-party duopoly" is delusional. Nader is running against Democrats -- period. (Just as he was in 2000, by the way.) He's happy to let Republicans help get him on the ballot in (at least) Oregon and Michigan, and now this.
Sorry, folks -- Nader's not Eugene V. Debs. He's Zell Miller. He's an opponent of the Republicans in name only.
