Walking around in MA today I can't shake the feeling that half the people I encounter, normal looking people, were mysteriously infected by a novel virus which turned serious political thinkers into brain dead right wing zombies. A few days ago I was greeted everywhere with a cheery "Happy New Year" from people I hadn't seen during the winter break. Now our surreptitious greeting is more like a whispered "What the fuck?" I, for one, don't welcome our new senatorial overlord, but we are stuck with Brown until the inevitable Republican bimbo eruptions bring him down.
