LIBERALS ARE SO WEIRD! THEIR REPORTERS AND POLS DON'T MARCH IN LOCKSTEP!

To right-wingers like The Weekly Standard's Mary Katherine Ham, I'm sure behavior like this is baffling and unrecognizable:

Losing: Helen Thomas, NYT, and The Nation Object to White House Fight With Fox News

Well, it's not the first time the Grande Liberal Dame of the press corps has had words for the Obama White House, but today Helen Thomas is voicing more unlikely sentiments by telling the White House attack dogs to heel in the Fox News fight....

The New York Times also joined the chorus of folks telling the White House to chill this weekend....

When you've got the Helen Thomas, the NYT, and The Nation lining up against you, it's time to admit defeat, boys....

See, Mary K., here's the thing: these people aren't like right-wingers. They don't wait for the central ideology authorities to issue talking points and then slavishly echo them. The folks at The Nation are always attacking Democratic politicians (and frequently, one another). David Carr of the Times is a guy who writes about the media and Hollywood and may not even know what committed lefties are thinking. And Helen Thomas is, well, Helen Thomas. Yeah, I know: to you that means she must be a lefty apparatchik, in the service of whoever has power if that person isn't a Republican. Well, that's why you and your kind are idiots.

All of these people are sticking up for a different affinity group -- they see the Foxers as their journalistic peers. I'm sure it's bizarre to you that non-right-wing reporters don't share a hive mind with right-wing pols, and might have loyalties elsewhere at times. But, yeah, our side is funny that way.
