Am I overreacting to this, or is Paul Ryan saying that Barack Obama is not only a bad president (which is what you'd expect him to say) but an illegitimate president?
(Ryan's alluding, of course, to the latest in a series of bad calls by scabs officiating at NFL games -- and yes, when Paul "Rand Boy" Ryan is demanding the return of unionized officials, irony is officially dead.)

RYAN: I gotta start off on something that was really troubling that occurred last night. Did you guys watch that Packer game last night? I mean, give me a break! It is time to get the real refs.I can't get too upset -- Ryan comes off like a bad wannabe comic on audition night at the Laff Shack. ("I mean, give me a break!") And he throws one right-wing economic catchphrase after another into the mix instead of sticking the point. (Why bring up "winners and losers"? And, um, I don't think they actually have a debt clock in any of the White House offices, though I could imagine a Romney/Ryan administration making a ridiculous show of installing one.)
And do you know what? It reminds me of President Obama and the economy. If you can't get it right, it's time to get out.
I half-think that these refs work part-time for the Obama administration in the budget office. They see the national debt clock staring them in the face, they see a debt crisis, and they just ignore and pretend it didn't even happen. They're trying to pick the winners and losers and they don't even do that very well.
But ultimately, I think Ryan's saying that Obama is not someone who obtained the job through normal channels, nor is he capable of having done so. Am I reading too much in?

Shecky's been put in to be the 2nd string QB, and thinks he's feckin' Rudy.
Given the concerted effort over the last 4 years to deny his legitimacy (from birther nonsense to ACORN 'stealing' the election to their refusal even to call him "President"), the answer is no--you aren't overreacting.
Just more empty blather. Romney and Ryan are attempting to jolly their way into office without actually discussing their agenda.
Think of Ryan's comments as performance art, and don't try to read anything into it. It's as meaningless as everything else the Romney team has offered voters.
The interesting thing to me about the Ryan candidacy is the apparent gulf between how he was/is regarded among Beltway types ("wow! whatta brainiac man o'principle!") and his effect so far on the electorate ("meh", or even "meh minus one"). I've seen nothing myself to make me think that Ryan added anything, not even a solid chance at Wisconsin, to the GOP's prospects. Nor do I have any qualms about how well Biden will handle him in a debate.
