Jeb Bush can never, ever be the Republican Party's nominee for president if there's even one publicly circulated photo of him participating in this:
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will present the National Constitution Center's (NCC) 2013 Liberty Medal to Hillary Clinton during a Sept. 10 ceremony in Philadelphia....Jeb handing Hillary an award, shaking her hand, and smiling? That's lethal. That eliminates any chance whatsoever that Jeb will emerge with the nomination in 2016, or ever. That will be as devastating in the GOP primaries as the McCain-Bush hug photo was in the 2008 general election.
And it's not just because of a general distaste for Hillary among Republicans (yeah, they hate her again) -- the story quoted above is from the right-wing Cybercast News Service. Allow me to repeat the quote above, with the full first sentence:
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will present the National Constitution Center's (NCC) 2013 Liberty Medal to Hillary Clinton during a Sept. 10 ceremony in Philadelphia, one day before the first-year anniversary of the terror attacks in Benghazi, Libya while Clinton was secretary of state.Yup -- Benghazi! Benghazi! Benghazi!
Right-wingers are going to be shouting "Benghazi!" until Hillary shuffles off this mortal coil, even if she serves two terms as president and does such a great job that she's made the fifth face on Mount Rushmore. (Half the linked story is about Benghazi.)
And it looks as if Jeb will shake hands with Hillary anyway, in front of cameras.
Shame about your political career, Jeb.

What is he thinking?
This will be like Christie's embrace of President Obama, after Hurricane Sandy.
Victor's comment begs the question: do you, Steve M., see much of a difference of impact between J. Bush/H. Clinton and Christie/Obama?
