I gather I'm supposed to be upset about this:

Video Game Allows Players to Slaughter "Tea Party Zombies" Like Sarah Palin and Bill O'Reilly

Have you ever fantasized about beating Bill O'Reilly to death with a crowbar or shooting up the offices of Americans for Prosperity with an Uzi? Well, the folks at StarvingEyes Advergaming apparently have and they'd like to share their latest creation with the world. The game is called "Tea Party Zombies Must Die" and, apart from abysmal game play, features several different levels where your only objective is to mercilessly slaughter everyone around you whether they are a Fox News stars or simply Americans For Prosperity employees...

And, well, yeah, I would be upset about it -- if (as I suspected) this kind of thing didn't go both ways, as I discovered in about six seconds of Googling:

Scary amount of 'Kill Obama' levels in LittleBigPlanet 2

Hey guys, did you hear that Barack Obama is a bad president? ... How about we create a level in
LittleBigPlanet 2 where we get to kill the president? THAT WILL SHOW HIM!

It's always embarrassing when you get a bunch of repugnant teen gamers talking about politics, but
LittleBigPlanet 2 has allowed these pimply pundits to express themselves in worryingly creepy ways. Quite a few Obama-themed levels are popping up in the game, with a variety of unsettling/stupid titles such as:

* obama kill read description
* defeat obamas
* hêârt if ù häte ôbámå ( seriously ) h4h
* m odes to kill obama
* stupid obama
* KILL OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
* arrest obama for life

And it goes on like this....

Yup -- it does indeed (click to enlarge):

Does it matter that this game involves a lot of user-generated content, whereas the tea party game is a game creator's work? I don't know. I'm not a gamer and I don't really care. I agree that all of this is way over the top -- but I don't want one side's haters blamed and one side's haters ignored. But I know that's what's going to happen, because that's what always happens.

You can also kill the president in this game.

AND: There's also this.

It's silly and cartoony -- but substitute the Palins and their kids, and imagine what the wingnut reaction would be.

OH, AND: It appears that "Tea Party Zombies" was released months ago -- here's a message-board reference to it from April. Did the wingers really just discover it? Or were they saving this hissyfit up for a post-Labor Day rollout because that fits their game plan?
