Yesterday I wrote about now-departed Jeb Bush appointee O'Neal Dozier, who verbally bashed Muslims, which made it politically impossible for him to get on with his work, which, in large part, was illegally pressing potential state judges for their views on religion.

Julia reminds me that while Dozier may rank high among religious-extremist Jeb appointees, ex-Department of Children and Family Services head Jerry Regier -- Family Research Council founder, dominionist, spanking advocate, and incompetent -- has him beat.

****

UPDATE: In more recent news, Roger Ailes notes the resignation of Jeb's Corrections Department head, James Crosby, in the wake of a bribery scandal. No sign of a Christianist connection there, however ... no, wait -- yes there is:

...Lawtey, about 30 miles southwest of Jacksonville, was transformed in December from a regular prison to one welcoming inmates who seek a religious life....

Another faith-based prison for women opened in mid-April near Tampa at Hillsborough Correctional Institution. It will eventually house 300 women. There's also been a faith-based dormitory for several years at Tomoka Correctional Institution, a men's prison near Daytona Beach. Criticized by civil liberties groups as mixing church and state, the faith-based institutions are a pet project of Gov. Jeb Bush and Corrections Secretary James Crosby, who hope the prisons reduce recidivism....

Hmmm ... maybe Crosby can be his own guinea pig on that little lab experiment.
