IN 2011, OLLIE NORTH WANTED US ALL TO WEAR BOWE BERGDAHL POW BRACELETS
Oliver North, Facebook, November 4, 2011:
You can watch North talking about the necessity of getting Bergdahl home here. (I'd embed the video, but Fox's embed codes never work for me.) The discussion of Bergdahl starts at about 2:30.
At the time, there were reports of Bergdahl's escape and recapture; North concluded that this meant Bergdahl hadn't "gone native," in the words of interlocutor Megyn Kelly. Kelly did not challenge North's assessment.
(Last night on Fox, Kelly was equally in agreement with two Bergdahl platoon mates who denounced Bergdahl as a deserter.)
The possibility that Berdgahl was a deserter had been raised on Fox as early as 2009, when Ralph Peters suggested that the Taliban should "save us a lot of legal hassles and legal bills" by killing Bergdahl if he actually had deserted. However, Fox host Julie Banderas said, "Regardless of what the situation is, we do not want to see any U.S. soldier in harm's way. And we hope that this guy gets out of there safely. He's an American -- he's one of ours." The Fox line hardened at exactly the moment the Obama administration got Bergdahl released, and not a minute earlier.

I don't think Whirling Dervishes could beat these conservative assclowns in a spinning contest.
The issue of whether he was a deserter should be determined by a US Army board of inquiry, not Fox News or his former platoon mates, who may have reasons of their own for not wanting the truth to get out.
Bowe Bergdahl deserves a chance to tell his side of the story and face his accusers.
[wingnut]The situation is completely different now because shutup[/wingnut]
Dennis is banned.
What are they going to do with all the "Obama left Bergdahl behind" t-shirts, though?
