I'm sure conservatives who read this story about a prominent pro-Obama civil rights group will be horrified -- and, for once, I don't blame them:
Speaking with Cincinnati radio host Bill Cunningham on Sunday, National Urban Forum director Lawrence Jones delightedly told a second-hand story about of a member of his group lobbying a congresswoman, who reportedly told the NUF member, "You want to shoot me, don’t you."Seriously, right-wingers -- if you denounce this, I'm right there with you. The fact that the head of a left-leaning civil rights group would joke about this sort of thing is outrageous, as I'm sure many of you will soon point out.
Jones said he didn't think this man actually wanted to shoot the congresswoman, but added, "that's probably a healthy fear for them to have."
"You know, I'm kind of glad that's in the back of their minds," he said. "Hopefully they'll behave."
... Oh, sorry -- I'm punking you. I made up the National Urban Forum, and I changed the name of the group's leader. Here's the real story (emphasis added):
Speaking with Cincinnati radio host Bill Cunningham on Sunday, Gun Owners of America director Larry Pratt delightedly told a second-hand story about of a member of his group lobbying a congresswoman, who reportedly told the GOA member, "You want to shoot me, don't you."So the guy who thinks it's appropriate for members of Congress to fear being shot if they cross his group is a True Conservative. Therefore it's all good -- right, conservatives?
Pratt said he didn't think this man actually wanted to shoot the congresswoman, but added, "that's probably a healthy fear for them to have."
"You know, I'm kind of glad that's in the back of their minds," he said. "Hopefully they'll behave."

Remember you are talking to the right wing so yes it is alright in their minds. The reason is very simple they have been practicing a scorched earth type of warfare against any that disagree with their stated philosophies.
I find it interesting that so many wander around and deny the obvious that the GOP is at war. ANyone that has been in the military will be able to see this fact in a second.
Cunningham is a Reich-Wing loon of the highest order.
But there's no way he'd invite someone who leans Liberal and talk with that person - he'd only want one on to scream at and demean. Or else find some faux-Liberal, who'd agree with him that ALL Liberals are evil.
So, I was punked for a second, figuring this guy was another Judas-goat.
But, then, I'm easily punked.
Really, if people want to meet members of the Secret Service, they should make the trek to the local branch.
Requiring them to come to you is lazy and a waste of the precious tax dollars they're always gabbling about.
