I GUESS JONAH GOLDBERG IS THE SMART, ACCOMPLISHED BROTHER

I'm still pondering the results of the high-profile races today, but in the New York City Council race in District 6, the people have spoken:

Joshua Goldberg -- Lucianne's son and Jonah's brother -- has been trounced. Trounced.

Now, it's not true that -- as Wonkette said a couple of months ago -- that Joshua "has been unemployed for a full 42 years." He's had jobs -- a fishmonger, a tour guide for two different companies, a couple of jobs working for his mother (including his current job) -- and he lists every single one on his campaign Web site, all the way back to high school. Did I mention that he's 42 years old?

But Goldberg was a real candidate who made real campaign videos and gave real speeches with his mom in the audience. He put a real goofy graphic on his site:

And he stood for things. Enacting a freight charge for people carrying bicycles and other large bulky items on the subway. Placing kiosks at various street corners where bills may be legally posted. Banning dogs from sidewalk tree planters. (Oddly, he supported putting recycling bins outside subway stations. A Goldberg? In favor of recycling? And subways? Don't tell Glenn Beck!)

His brother and mother hyped his candidacy, but it was to no avail -- he lost. Badly.

Jonah is the golden boy in that family.
