Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett held up a blank notepad when Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) asked her to show the public the notes she’s been using to answer the numerous questions spat at her during day two of the confirmation hearings.
“Most of us have multiple notebooks and notes and books, things like that in front of us,” said Sen. Cornyn (video below). “Can you hold up what you’ve been referring to in answering our questions?”
Barrett held up a blank notepad.
“Is there anything on it?” asked Cornyn.
“The letterhead that says United States Senate,” the judge replied.
“That’s impressive,” said the senator.

And what was the purpose of this? To show that Barrett is intelligent? No one is questioning that. We're questioning her insistence that she isn't committed to a Religious Right/Kochite ideological project meant to unwind as many of the progressive gains of the past 120 years as possible. No one doubts that she's brfght.
A few minutes ago, we saw what might have been the actual purpose of this exercise:
Unlike Joe Biden, Amy Coney Barrett doesn’t need notes or a teleprompter to remember her positions. https://t.co/AVA5OOmTVp

Is that really it? Did Cornyn feed Barrett that straight line in order to generate more Har har har Biden's a feeb! boob-bait?
Whatever the purpose, these are your tax dollars at work. Everything Republicans do, every day, in and out of election season, is meant to reinforce the message Our side good, their side evil.
Within 24 hours, you'll be able to buy T-shirts of Barrett holding up that notepad, I guarantee it.
