ED? MAY I MAKE SOME RECOMMENDATIONS ABOUT WHERE YOU CAN PUT THAT THUMB?
Politico:
Rendell: Obama bungling Blago response
Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell today criticized Barack Obama for not being more upfront about the Illinois corruption scandal.
Now, he said, the story will continue to dominate the media's attention.
"They have never been in an executive position before," Rendell said on MSNBC’s "Morning Joe." "The rule of thumb is whatever you did, say it and get it over with and make it a one-day story as opposed to a three-day story. Politicians are always misjudging the intelligence of the American people." ...
You like rules of thumb, Ed? OK, here's a rule of thumb for you: The party that frags its own is the loser party. Sure, if you're a Democrat, make an exception for, say, Rod Blagojevich or William Jefferson -- but not for a president-elect who has a 79% approval rating for his transition.
Obama's doing what he always does: he's remaining calm and getting his response prepared carefully and methodically. He'll nail this, his way and at his pace; and he knows that when he does, all the talk about "Obama's bungled response" will be forgotten fishwrap.
Meanwhile, Ed, on this issue he already has to deal with every gibbering idiot on the right, so just shut the hell up because he doesn't need to deal with you, too.
