THIS TIME I'M SURE HE'LL CHANGE!

Elizabeth Bumiller of The New York Times on George W. Bush, in today's New York Times:

...it is too early to tell if victory will lift what critics call the chip on his shoulder and make him more magnanimous -- or whether it will simply create a more imperial president.

The sad thing is, she really believes this. She really believes it's an open question. She really thinks, after four years, that the Good Bush, the Nice Bush, the Plays Well With Others Bush, might someday show up.

Oh, Elizabeth, Elizabeth ... if I had swampland to sell, you'd be the first potential buyer I'd call.
