THE MOST POWERFUL NAME IN NEWS

Remind me again: why did the White House Correspondents Association vote to give a front-row seat in the White House briefing room to this news organization?

Here's the newsflash from Fox:
The blueprint for how Americans would be disarmed during a declared civil emergency is contained in an Army manual that outlines a plan to confiscate firearms to prevent them falling into the hands of rioters or dissidents.

Given the imminent introduction of Senator Dianne Feinstein's draconian gun control legislation, which would instantly criminalize millions of gun owners in the United States if passed, concerns that the Obama administration could launch a massive gun confiscation effort have never been greater.

In July 2012, the process by which this could take place was made clear in a leaked US Army Military Police training manual for "Civil Disturbance Operations" (PDF) dating from 2006.
Yes, you read that last sentence correctly: the "Obama blueprint" for mass disarmament is actually a plan for dealing with civil unrest dating back to ... two and a half years before he was elected president.

Fox Nation sources this story to World Net Daily. World Net Daily sources it to professional conspiratorialist Alex Jones's Infowars.com.

So why do respectable people consider Fox a news organization?

Bonus breaking news from Fox Nation:

And this is newsworthy why exactly? Oh, I don't know -- maybe because Sandra Lee is the live-in non-spouse of New York's governor, Andrew Cuomo, a possible 2016 presidential candidate (and, perhaps not incidentally, a gun control advocate)?

Now, perhaps this is not the most appetizing cake:

But the video is from 2008. Why was it posted at FN today? I guess it's never a bad time to stick a thumb in the eye of a liberal, or a Democrat, or a Democrat's spouse (or non-spouse), is it?

UPDATE: Ahhh, I see why Cuomo is being indirectly attacked now:
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo plans to deliver his third State of the State speech this week, setting an agenda that includes gun control....

Among the topics expected in Wednesday's address are a new ban on assault rifles and high-capacity clips for bullets in the aftermath of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting....
That's got to be the reason.

Wow, frist minus spam! Gaack that sounds like a horrible cake. Pretty much in line with all her stuff, though. The pink tablescapes are pretty mind boggling. Had no idea she was Cuomo's GF.

As far as the Rethug over-reaction to anything remotely resembling gun control - is anyone surprised? At all?

I liked it when the White House tried to throw them out, altogether.

Well, Steve, it looks like it's not just the Republican Party that wants to deny that Republican George W. Bush was ever President - it looks like FOX does, too.

I must have missed Clintone's 3rd term, and didn't realize that President Obama is about to start his 3rd one, too.

I don't understand the thing about the cake...

But yes Faux news is horribly awful.
