Here's the cover of the latest issue of Time magazine:

Trump won't like one of the accompanying stories, "Donald Trump’s Campaign to Discredit the Russia Investigation May Be Working. It’s Also Damaging American Democracy" -- or perhaps I should say he wouldn't like it in the unlikely event that he ever got around to reading it.

But he'll love the cover -- and he'll definitely notice it, because he pays a lot of attention to the "legacy" media. It won't matter to him that the cover is intended to be troubling to patriotic Americans -- Trump generally doesn't care what other people think. He'll think it's delightful. It won't surprise me if he orders copies of the cover posted in all of his properties (even though, technically, he no longer runs his company).

I can also imagine the folks in #MAGA Nation seizing on the image and using it for homemade T-shirts and Trump rally signs. Hell, they already call Trump the "God Emperor" in fan forums on Reddit. Why wouldn't they repurpose this?

If I'm right, it will be a variation of Poe's Law -- in this case, it will prove impossible to create a parody of Trumpian grandiosity so obviously exaggerated that the admirers of his grandiosity won't embrace it.
