No Liberals Allowed: Group To Build 'Live And Let Live' Community

A group of like-minded patriots, bound together by pride in American exceptionalism, plan on building an armed community to protect their liberty.

The group, named Citadel, intends to purchase 2,000 to 3,000 acres for the project in western Idaho. The community will comprise of 3,500 to 7,000 families of patriotic Americans who "voluntarily choose to live together in accordance with Thomas Jefferson's ideal of Rightful Liberty." ...

Fox picked this up from a CNSNews story titled "Patriotic Group To Build Armed 'Defensible' Neighborhood Fortress."

From Citadel's Web site, we learn more:

The Towers and Curtain Wall providing the town's primary perimeter defense will be inaccessible to tourists. Each Tower will house condos. The wall sections between Towers will be the location for many of the larger homes. By looking at the Artist's Concept (left) you can see that housing will be well-removed from tourist foot-traffic. The Perimeter Road follows the Curtain Wall.

Each neighborhood within the walls will have lower defensive walls, dividing the town into defensible sections/neighborhoods.

Residents are expected to agree to a "Patriot Agreement" that reads in part:

Two: Every able-bodied Patriot aged 13 and older governed by this Agreement shall annually demonstrate proficiency with the rifle of his/her choice by hitting a man-sized steel target at 100 yards with open sights at the Citadel range. Each Resident shall have 10 shots and must hit the target at least 7 times.

Three: Every able-bodied Patriot aged 13 and older governed by this Agreement shall annually demonstrate proficiency with a handgun of choice by hitting a man-sized steel target at 25 yards with open sights at the Citadel range. Each Resident shall have 10 shots and must hit the target at least 7 times.

Four: Every able-bodied Patriot of age within the Citadel will maintain one AR15 variant in 5.56mm NATO, at least 5 magazines and 1,000 rounds of ammunition. The responsibility for maintaining functional arms and ammunition levels for every member of the household shall fall to the head of household. Every able-bodied Patriot will be responsible for maintaining a Tactical Go Bag or Muster Kit to satisfy the Minuteman concept.

The Citadel project claims to be part of the Three Percent movement The ADL explains what that is:

The Three Percenters, formed in late 2008, are a loosely organized movement centered around an obscure, and not particularly accurate, Revolutionary War "statistic" that claimed that only 3% of the American population during the Revolutionary War participated as combatants in the war. The group asserts that they are a modern counterpart to that mythical 3% of American Revolutionary-era patriots and also represent the three percent of the population of American gun owners "who will not disarm."

Readers may recall that Christian Hyman, aka Sam Kerodin, is not exactly a favorite of mine, since he appeared out of nowhere and attempted to hijack the Three Percent philosophy (with some success since there are suckers born every minute, apparently). His latest scam is something called "Citadel" ...

This post at another blog, written by an admirer, also ID's Kerodin as the founder of Citadel, and also says he started a firearms company called III Arms. (The Citadel site says III Arms was founded to fund the Citadel project, and that the company will employ Citadel residents.)

So who is Kerodin?

An Alexandria man was sentenced yesterday in federal court to 30 months in prison and fined $6,000 after he pleaded guilty in January to charges of extortion and possessing an unregistered short-barreled rifle.

U.S. Attorney Paul J. McNulty in Alexandria said Christian Kerodin, 36, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Gerald Bruce Lee, who also ordered that the prison term be followed by three years of supervised release.

What did Kerodin do? After 9/11, he set himself up as a security consultant; he approached shopping malls claiming that they were likely targets of terrorism, then threatened to ID particular malls in a published report as especially vulnerable to terrorism unless those malls paid him not to do so.

Let me reiterate: This felon and his secessionist militia project are being promoted by Fox News -- which insists that it's a respectable news organization.

By the way, if the name Sipsey Street Irregulars sounds familiar to you, then maybe you're remembering this, from 2010:

... the sound of glass shattering at Democratic Party offices around the country has put the spotlight on former militiaman Mike Vanderboegh, who furiously called on followers last Friday to protest health care reform by breaking Democratic windows.

Vanderboegh posted his message on his blog, Sipsey Street Irregulars, calling for "all modern Sons of Liberty" to break the windows of local Democratic Party offices. Since that time, Democratic offices across the country have reported windows smashed in an apparent response to health care reform....

"[I]f you wish to send a message that [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi and her party cannot fail to hear, break their windows," the Pinson, Ala., blogger wrote. "Break them NOW. Break them and run to break again. Break them under cover of night. Break them in broad daylight. Break them and await arrest in willful, principled civil disobedience. Break them with rocks. Break them with slingshots. Break them with baseball bats. But BREAK them." ...

Vandeboegh is also the author of a self-published novel, Absolved, in which militia members fight the U.S. government; a member of a Geogia militia group whose alleged terrorist plot was broken up by the government reportedly claimed that Absolved inspired the plot. None of this is ever mentioned on Fox when Vanderboegh appears, as he has repeatedly on the channel, as an expert on the Fast & Furious program.
