THE OBVIOUS MESSAGE IN TWO STORIES ABOUT TRUMP'S POPULARITY

Trump fans are vigorously pushing this story:
President Trump supporters line up 40 hours before Orlando rally

More than 40 hours before President Donald Trump will announce his re-election bid in Orlando, supporters started lining up outside the Amway Center.

Eight Trump supporters started camping out Monday morning, with the first one showing up at 2:30 a.m. The rally is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Gary Beck, a Trump supporter from Panama City, was the first in line.

"There's going to be a bunch of people, and it's going to be pretty intense," Beck said. "The electricity is going to be high. It's time for America to get back on its feet and be made better than it's ever been before."

Trump tweeted Monday that the rally "looks to be setting records," with more than 100,000 ticket requests. The Amway Center seats 20,000.
Are the crowd estimates accurate? Are some people being paid to attend, as was the case when Trump announced his candidacy four years ago? We don't know.

But let's take this on faith. What conclusion should we draw? Trump fans really like Trump. Big news!

Meanwhile:
Trump interview on ABC was a ratings bust

President Donald Trump’s much-teased interview with ABC was not the ratings bonanza the numbers-obsessed president likely would have wanted.

The hourlong special with ABC chief anchor George Stephanopoulos came in third in its timeslot Sunday night, notching 3.91 million viewers according to ratings aggregator TV by the Numbers.

... despite portions of the interview — which had been teased out over the course of several days — making major news, the full special was not enough to draw viewers away from the finale of the U.S. Open on Fox, which pulled in 7.29 million viewers over three hours, or CBS’ “60 Minutes,” which netted 4.67 million viewers in its second hour.
Conclusion? Trump's base loves him. The rest of America isn't interested in him. Most of America doesn't want to cheer him on or even hate-watch him.

That's where we stand going into 2020. Sucks for you, Donald.
