Obama observes Islam practice of eliminating Western names>Mt. McKinley to revert back to Denali https://t.co/rh0ZhaVMhv via @gatewaypundit

Perhaps we should just be grateful Obama didn't decide to rename Mt. McKinley Mt. Trayvon.

Never mind the fact that this is a popular move in Alaska, even among Republicans:
Today we are honored to recognize America's highest peak officially as Denali, or 'The Great One.' http://t.co/lxd3HKAOBo

Hey, angry conservatives, do you know who calls the mountain Denali?
Sarah Palin.
She called it Denali in her 2009 gubernatorial resignation speech. Go to 1:25 in the clip:
And getting up here I say it is the best road trip in America soaring through nature's finest show. Denali, the great one, soaring under the midnight sun.
Denali was also Palin's Secret Service codename during the 2008 election.
Angry conservatives, why do you hate Sarah Palin?
****
UPDATE: And since I'm getting some positive reactions to this on Twitter, I'll add it here.
Hey, GMC: change the name of the Denali to the McKinley and watch a lot of right-wing idiots decide to buy one.

Just saw this in the Wikipedia (adjust your salt intake accordingly):
In 1896, a gold prospector named it McKinley as political support for then-presidential candidate William McKinley, who became president the following year. The United States formally recognized the name Mount McKinley after President Wilson signed the Mount McKinley National Park Act of February 26, 1917.[25]
The Alaska Board of Geographic Names changed the name of the mountain to Denali, which is how it is called locally.[6]
However, a 1975 request by the Alaska state legislature to the United States Board on Geographic Names to do the same was blocked by Ohio congressman Ralph Regula, whose district included McKinley's hometown of Canton.[26]
Ironically, Ohio is derived from the Iroquois word ohi-yo'. A fact that seems to be lost on our idiot pols.
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming are ALL derived or direct Native American names. That's almost half of all states.
I read in threads in the Outrageousesphere that Obama's actually priming up for the Great De-Reaganing:
Apparently what's "really happening" is that the One is planning on replacing all European place names in the U.S.A. with names of himself or his family, just like Napoleon Bonaparte.
Right from when the One managed to get re-elected, Parks Service jackboots started hunting down all Whitey-named parksites, rivers & tributaries, lakes and mountains, and matching them up to a list provided by Obummer's personal security service OFA to some relative of his in Kenya or Indonesia (but not any of his ancestors from Kansas, or Canada, or Ireland, cuz Whitey). Then, under the direction of a secret secular joint-Clinton Foundation-Islamic university project headed up by Cass "Goebbels" Sunstein, they aim to find a local name that can be used to "nudge" the American name out of the way. The plan finally comes all together once Hillary Clinton seizes power, when, once she's president, she'll start renaming them full-on Obama-family African Islam or Obama-family Asian Islam or whatever Islam names.
There's researchers right now in WND, Breitbart, Heritage and elswhere etc. working fast as they can & furiously as possible to find out how the name "Denali" ties into Obama's mongrel family ancestors. The current operating theory is that Denali is a close fit to one of Obama's great aunts on his Kenyan grandmother's side. The researchers are growing increasing horrified by the scale of the program and say they are going to need a lot of donation money to get this project done.
The same logic in your tweet Steve is the logic of conservative ideology: "Make liberals mad." Cleek's wisdom never ceases to amaze me.
This is the logic that all of us can exploit for 2016. Pre-Iowa, pretend to be REALLY REALLY scared of Trump, saying "Trump's appeal to racism worries me." Such headlines are catnip for conservatives and confirms that they're on the side of (white) angels. Whoever wins Iowa or NH, immediately predict a Dem blow-out as a result for GOP failues and announce HRC will soon be God-King of the United States, and will make herself immune from assassination attempts when she announces Elizabeth Warren as her running mate. Conservatives will get mad at that, and the coup-de-grace will be taking a firm position against drinking bleach.
C'mon man...you know how to play this crowd, now you need to monetize it! Get on the grift!
I love that first Twitter quote the most--the "Islam practice of eliminating Western names". Because the Alaskan indigenous people are somehow not Western? Geographically, they are so very Western. But in a world view where "western" means white and "Christian"? Ah! Also, I think it's hilarious that people in Ohio want to dictate to Alaskans what they should call their local places. Wasn't there--I mean--a political thing, really, about states choosing things for themselves? I'm sure there's a term for it. Tip of my tongue, just about.
William Shatner cover of the Palin resignation speech, with bass and bongos.
So basically the Obama took something away from the white dogs.
Pity.
At this point in his Presidency, I suspect that Obama’s just trolling the conservatives, and he and Michelle sit over dinner, and laugh their asses off!
Just wondering if there is anything Obama could do that wouldn't infuriate the right.
John Taylor, he could lynch himself. Other than that, not much.
Vic, I just posted that to my place.
Fell free, Ten Bears!
