It's also clear how relatively lucky we were in 2022 that polio and monkeypox could be (mostly) kept in check using existing vaccines (albeit after quite a bit of suffering and pain in the case of monkeypox and at least one case of paralysis in the case of polio). If we have another health crisis in a few years involving a new virus that requires a new vaccine, these people will make its widespread adaptation next to impossible in America. If the governor of Florida is as big a star on the right as they tell us, and if middle-of-the-road voters shrug and decide to vote for him because they think it's "time for a change," we might elect our first anti-vaxx president in 2024. Whose president would DeSantis be? The president for these commenters.
