The Republican National Committee is set to run a series of ads before and during next week’s GOP debate highlighting a new effort to attract diverse voters in 2016.More, from The Hill:
ABC News got a sneak peek at the “Where You Lead, Others Will Follow” ad campaign featuring a diverse group of Republicans that are already active in the party. The series features a former prostitute; a 9/11 firefighter in The Bronx, New York; the son of Haitian immigrants and a mentor from Queens, New York; a mother of a child with autism from Tampa, Florida; and a first generation Hispanic American college student from Pueblo, Colorado.
... Those featured in the ad are volunteer leaders in the RNC’s Republican Leadership Initiative Program, an initiative launched last year to recruit and train GOP field organizers.
“Our effort to win the White House is fueled by the diverse and unique personal stories that motivate each and every individual to get involved in the political process,” RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement.I bet Priebus is really proud of this initiative.
“The RNC is going neighborhood by neighborhood, to listen to these stories from across the country and harness the energy behind each individual’s inspiration for wanting to make our country a better place. We only win the White House by joining together to take a leading role in our communities, and we want to share the stories of those who are already making that effort and encouraging others to do the same.”
...The GOP has stepped up efforts to broaden its base since the party lost the 2012 presidential election, in part, by ceding the vast majority of minority voters to the Democratic Party.
And I bet it's killing him that the rollout of the initiative coincided with this comment by the Republican governor of Maine:
Gov. Paul LePage made a racially charged comment in Bridgton on Wednesday night during one of his regular town hall meetings to promote his policy agenda.Oops!
About 30 minutes into the meeting, which was rebroadcast Thursday night, LePage responded to a question about how he was tackling substance abuse in Maine. He began talking about how much of the heroin is coming into Maine from out-of-state drug dealers.
“These are guys with the name D-Money, Smoothie, Shifty … these types of guys … they come from Connecticut and New York, they come up here, they sell their heroin, they go back home,” LePage told a large crowd. “Incidentally, half the time they impregnate a young, white girl before they leave, which is a real sad thing because then we have another issue we have to deal with down the road.”
Sorry, Reince. You keep buying different brands of diversity lipstick and applying them to your pig of a party, but at the end of the day, your party is still a pig. There's nothing much you can do about that.
I don't picture Reinhold P. being all that shockin' awed at Guvnor-by-plurality Pigeonshit undoing all that supposed enlightenment agoin' on in the party's propaganda wing.
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteI blame him, and earlier, Palin, for the lack of Vitamin D, in those two snow-bound statae!

ReplyDeletedanny is spamming some funny shit.
ReplyDeleteSo Reince is featuring a group that includes a former sex worker, a union member, an immigrant of color, an urban resident, a mother of a special needs child, and a Latino student. Can they tell us how the Republican party will meet their reproductive health needs, support their right to collective bargaining, enhance public transportation, provide special education and disability benefits, and provide relief from student loans? Not to mention a path to citizenship for immigrants?
No.
Paul LePage (AKA "The Human Bowlking Jacket") is the face of the Republican party, these folks are just dupes and window-dressing.
