Political junkies seem to dissect every poll that's released, but, funny thing, I haven't seen a certain set of results in this new Economist/YouGov poll dissected, even though the poll has been out there since early this morning. In the poll, respondents are asked about presidential candidates and foreign policy:
On the second question, yes, when thinking of Hillary, more people express unease than confidence -- but that's true of all the listed candidates, including Very Serious Jeb and Generalissimo Trump, and with much greater ratios of unease to confidence. The fact is, on both of these questions, Hillary Clinton laps the field. And the same was true in the previous Economist/YouGov poll, which was conducted just after the Paris attacks.
Now, why do you suppose these results haven't been widely discussed? Not consistent with the Hillary's-struggling narrative, perhaps?
Uneasy lie the media heads who wear the crowns.
ReplyDeleteHow can she be ahead as far as competence is concerned, without equally competent GOP candidates numbers - to sustain the narrative that both sides suck, but the Dem's suck worse, and Hillary's in trouble, because Chris Chritie's poll numbers in NH have improved?
Oy!
Yeeeeeeeeeeesh...
I need a drink or two.
Or, 30...
For months now I haven't understood why the candidate who gets 30% of Republicans is viewed as having his finger on the pulse of Real America, but the candidate who gets 60% of Democrats is failing to connect, failing to make the sale, whatever. As Lawrence o'Donnell put it, there are more Bernie Sanders supporters than Donald Trump supporters.

ReplyDeleteAnd all of this will, as always, be good for John McCai... Mitt Romn... whoever will end up being the GOP's Presidential candidate next year.
Take it away, Politico!
I keep asking these bozos how a government that's so foked up it can't do a fracking thing right is going to take away all the guns, but all I get is drool.
ReplyDeleteGood catch, Steve. Team Hillary can make this leave a mark if they can amplify on it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder who makes up that 2% who believe Hillary is dishonest yet ready to be Commander in Chef?
