MEET COLIN FLAHERTY, THE RABBLE-ROUSER WHO'S TRYING TO START A RACE WAR (WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM SEAN HANNITY)

Al Sharpton just spoke out against "knockout game" attacks:
Rev. Al Sharpton condemned "knockout" attacks Saturday but stopped short of calling for marches against the brutal hate crimes.

"This kind of behavior is deplorable and must be condemned by all us," he said at his weekly National Action Network meeting in Harlem. "We would not be silent if it was the other way around. We cannot be silent or in any way reluctant to confront it when it is coming from our own community." ...

"Kids are randomly knocking out people [from] another race -- some specifically going at Jewish people," he said. "This kind of insane thuggery -- there is nothing cute about that. There is no game play about knocking somebody out, and it is not a game. It is an assault and is bias, and it is wrong." ...
I don;t know why Sharpton bothers -- his haters are going to keep telling you that he's never spoken out against this, ignoring what he's saying the way they ignore, say, his condemnation of misogyny and the use of the n-word in rap music. It's much easier to assume that he ignores these issues than to check the facts.

Now, if you lurk at online-right sites the way I do, you know about the one man who, above all, sees this sort of violence as his ticket to fame. He's Colin Flaherty, a World Net Daily columnist and Delaware talk-show host, who's written a book called White Girl Bleed a Lot: The Return of Racial Violence and How the Media Ignore It. The website for the book is, to say the least, unsubtle:

Want to see Flaherty's "Top 100 Black Mob Violence Videos"? The link is here. As I said, unsubtle.

Fox News, so far, has given Flaherty a wide berth, but Fox star Sean Hannity gave Flaherty a very respectful hearing on the radio this past week:
Flaherty congratulated Hannity for being willing to talk about it, and Hannity in turn pressed Flaherty over and over for confirmation that what it sounds like -- black mobs identifying whites or Asians as victims, and "cold-cocking" them without warning -- was exactly what was going on.

"In the book, there’s just one thing after another," Flaherty told Hannity. "There's something very wrong going on that not enough people are talking about."

... Black-on-white violence, Flaherty said, is "exponentially out of proportion" to crime in general.
Well, a recent case in Borough Park, Brooklyn, led to the arrest of four Hispanics and a young man of Indian descent. And the only precondition for attacks would seem to be citizens who assume that they're safe and knucklehead kids with underdeveloped consciences, so I see no reason why we won't ultimately hear about such attacks by kids of all races, colors, and creeds.

Fox isn't featuring Flaherty -- at least not yet -- but racial resentment is being stirred on Fox:
"It's savagery. It's very difficult to watch those tapes," former CBS News correspondent Bernard Goldberg told Bill O'Reilly on "The O'Reilly Factor." ...

"Just let's imagine that what we're seeing here is white kids attacking black people," Goldberg continued." ...That would obviously be a national news story because it's orchestrated racial violence. But this isn't."
But Flaherty is leading the charge:

And he's got at least one famous fan besides Hannity:

Followed by Rove?

Why am I not surprised?

(I see I also wrote about Flaherty in August. Apologies if I'm repeating myself.)

  1. No matter what races are involved, this is bizarre and despicable behavior.
And we must do what we can to stop it, and punish the miscreant to the fullest extent of the law.

But, if you take out the cold-cocking aspect of it, how different is this from the behavior of the gangs of youth's in 19th Century NYC?
    Or 18th Century London?
Or, for that matter, ancient Babylon?

Gangs of disaffected poor youths, and bored young swells, resorting to violence, have been around, probably... well, forever.

  2. I'm looking forward to the white dogs starting a race war and then actually get one. They're all talk, no walk. Never met one I couldn't whip.

    Bring it on, squaws...

    No fear.

  3. Mencken put it rather poetically when discussing the "Negro Problem" almost 100 years ago:

What, ladies and gentlemen, in hell or out of it, are we to do with the Ethiop? Who shall answer the thunderous demands of the emerging coon? For emerging he is, both quantitatively and qualitatively, and there will come a morn, believe me or not, when those with ears to hear and hides to feel will discover that he is to be boohed and put off no longer – that he has at last got the power to exact a square answer, and that the days of his docile service as minstrel, torch and goat are done. When that morn dawns, I pray upon both knees, I shall be safe in the Alps, and not below the Potomac River, hurriedly disguised with burnt cork and trying to get out on the high gear.

  4. In Australia it's called "king hitting" and has been a spate of them. A comparatively small number have resulted in deaths. Australia's response is to run an advertising campaign highlighting how UN cool it is and charge the culprits.
Then again Australia doesn't appear to have such a entrenched Over the top pursuance for racist or violence generally.
But they're learning from the masters .... after all USA Number One!
All jokes aside neither country has or is inclined to look at the causes (poverty, isolation, lack of opportunity etc.)
We humans are such Slo-o-ow learners

Maybe he's not talking to the right wingers? Maybe he's trying to reach moderate liberals and centrists? Maybe he doesn't want the response to this behavior to be an enthusiastic call for more stop and frisk?

This is hardly a NYC problem. Here in DC we've had problems with roving bands of teenagers viciously assaulting people on the subway, in dinners, or in their place of business.

You know what the local response was here? Fucking Marion Barry came out and endorsed the attacks provided they were against Asians because... Asians are dirty people who take jobs in chocolate city away from black people who are owed the jobs. They also force black people out of business so they can install nail salons and whore houses... plus you can't go to the hospital in the city now because it's full of Asians and we all know Asians are dirty.

There's also the fact that Sharpton stuck his nose in the entire Trayvon/Zimmerman fiasco... these assaults (at least here in DC) almost always used a hoodie because it covers your face perfectly from security cameras. So to those of us who'd either done similar stupid shit as a kid, or been through it later in life, this sad scene is just more of the same.

I don't think Sharpton gives a fuck what the right wingers think. I do think he's sharp enough to realize this is a national problem, it's been growing, and it justifies more Zimmermans, more stand your grounds, and more stop and frisk policies in other major cities. Many cities who's residents are pissed off enough they might be willing to tolerate it.

  6. Geese,
Please tell me I've misunderstood you.
    (we've all dun it, it's a national problem So it's ok ?)
Oh yes and a black 'leader' "is sticking his nose?" into a case of entrenched institutionalised racism and/or social insanity?!?
It justifies more Zimmermans et al ?!
    Just a national issue?!?
No wait, you're using Dark humor, aren't you?
Either that or 276 words to prove WHY your attitude on this is part of the primarily a Conservative created/driven problem.

Simply even the ancient Romans knew that if you had a permanently institutionalised under class then the republic was ultimately doomed.
At their peak they resolved the issue with "social(IZED) benefits". When self interest beat that down the empire imploded. This pattern has repeated it's self in every empire Before and since.
