Raw Story reports:
The CEO of a Tennessee company that specializes weapons and tactical training is threatening to "start killing people" if President Barack Obama moves forward with gun control measures. That video has been pulled, but Yeager, head of a firm called Tactical Response, is no stranger to death threats. He's also threatened to kill his critics in the gun community. They've accused him of having some responsibility for the death of at least one colleague while doing private security work in Iraq, and of endangering a photographer during live-fire training at Tactical Response.
In a video posted to YouTube and Facebook on Wednesday, Tactical Response CEO James Yeager went ballistic over reports that the president could take executive action with minor gun control measures after the mass shooting of 20 school children in Connecticut last month....
"I'm telling you that if that happens, it's going to spark a civil war, and I'll be glad to fire the first shot. I'm not putting up with it. You shouldn't put up with it. And I need all you patriots to start thinking about what you're going to do, load your damn mags, make sure your rifle’s clean, pack a backpack with some food in it and get ready to fight."
The CEO concluded: "I'm not fucking putting up with this. I'm not letting my country be ruled by a dictator. I'm not letting anybody take my guns! If it goes one inch further, I'm going to start killing people."
But there's more. In this survivalist-porn video, in which we see Yeager's doomsday prep and mad survivalist skillz (he can do a situp and shoot an assault weapon simultaneously! whoa, dude!), he even threatens his own daughters' friends with death:
I have a year's preparations in my house -- food, guns, and medical supplies. It's my responsibility to protect my family against seen and unseen threats. I've had to tell my daughters since they were young not to tell their friends about the food we have in our house. And they would ask why, and I would say, "You want me to shoot your friends in the face?"Yes, foreign readers, it's true: In America, we let a guy like this own as many guns as he wants. We let him shoot guns for a living. With other people around.
What a country.

UPDATE: Crooks and Liars has preserved the "start killing people" video.

UPDATE: Here's a follow-up. After a while he becomes fairly pugnacious. ("I do not condone anybody committing any kind of felonies up to and including any aggravated assaults or murders, unless it's necessary. Right now it is not necessary.") But at the very beginning he seems, well, anxious. He's a big tough guy, but I guess he knows how deep he stepped in it, and it scared him a little.
"Tactical?"
ReplyDeleteEr... Dude, I do not think that word means what you think it means...
"Tantrum" - yeah!
"Tactical" - uhm... Not so much.
I'm hoping some state and local cops came in to talk to this lunatic.
And, I'm kind of thinking that the Secret Service might come over for a chat over some cucumber sandwiches, lady-fingers, and tea.
And, I'd like to ask Wayne LaPierre and the NRA, does this guy seem at all mentally balanced to you?
Even just a little bit?
The man is probably a paranoid schizophrenic, who needs an intervention before he goes ballistic.
Forget chats with the Secret Service. The man needs to be taken to a hospital and given massive doses of Haldol.

The New York Crank
Twenty years - before youtube - or so ago my sons and I had a bit of a spread up Montana way and one of our neighbors, such as neighbors are up Montana way, was this Troachmann character, one of the first of the Militia Media Personalities, declaring himself armed, dangerous and intent upon overthrowing the government. Used to get a pretty good chuckle oit of it: go ahead fool, tell the government you are armed, dangerous and intend to overthrow her... as I sit home on my sack of seed.
ReplyDeleteGun nut threatens to start shooting people to demonstrate the importance of responsible gun ownership.
ReplyDeleteYou really can't make this stuff up.
I'd like to repeat the above comments but in reality its a well tried and true FREE PUBLICITY stunt. By making his bit so SENSATIONAL. I'm more frightened of the quiet brooding dingbats who are planning actions or might be stirred up by this selfish little man.
ReplyDeleteInstead of giving him what he wants ask yourself what is his ultimate goal and ensure he can't get that.
I suspect there are two aims first to stir up pressure to ensure the Prez DOESN'T go the route of an executive order. ....because this his is only tactic to prevent his real agenda the curbing of HIS Pecuniary interests.
He has probably donated to corrupting the congressional route but this one is out of his money's control (see http://www.alternet.org/news-amp-politics/political-disaster-members-congress-expected-spend-5-hours-day-begging-money)
so he's appealing to the hysteria of the rump of the Republican voters.
The dark side of me is schadenfreude (ing) at this turkey making a dick of himself. Old folk tale about the birdie fallen from the nest is freezing in the snow. A kindly old cow does a dump around the birdie to keep it warm. It begins to sing it's so happy and warm. A wolf hear the song, finds the birdie and picks it out and eats it!
There are 3 morals to this tale
1. When you are up to your neck in Shit DON'T sing about it. (draw attention to yours self)
2. Not every one who shits on you is your enemy
3. not every one who pulls you out of the shit is your friend
Have no fear this person is *at least* on the FBI's, Internal revenue, etc watch lists now. And IMHO rightly so . Studies have found that many CEOs self made owners, have higher/more sociopathic tendencies (i.e. limited consciences or regard for laws choosing to avoid or ignore those that don't advantage them...) who knows what the bureaucracies will find! While I may not be as 'successful' as some at least I don't live in fear of the greater good.
Interestingly his video *maybe * grounds for incitement laws in several countries that have fire arm control laws ....but OOPS they're all functioning Democracies with far less mass shootings of innocents. Neither are they Dictatorships (damn I was hoping to emigrate to one and become president for life with all the goodies).
PS
ReplyDeleteJust in case I didn't make it clear this Guy's narcissism/ extreme egocentricity clearly points to the strong possibility of his being a card carrying sociopath. ie. indifference to the consequences of his utterances and other people in general.
it's all a matter of degree...and hinges on the question are his tendency extreme enough to exclude/exceed 'normal' levels of behavior. "The bells are ringing".
The NRA’s, Wayne LaPierre's, and this guy's solution is, that while we can’t register, and/or confiscate guns, we should register, and/or confiscate the civil rights of, people with mental illness/issues.
ReplyDeleteYeah, kinda makes sense, don' it?
Only if you have some mental illness/issues.
GOTCHA!
Is that communicating a threat? A violation of some sort of anti-terrorism law?
