(with a Ted Nugent update)
That's their message: God damn America, or, at least, God damn the majority of America's voters for rejecting their guy -- and, thus, all that is good and true and decent -- as a consequence of their own moral depravity.
David Gelertner at National Review:
The blue states want to secede not from America but from Americanism. They reject the American republic of God-fearing individuals in favor of the European ideal, which has only been government by aristocracy: either an aristocracy of birth or, nowadays, of ruling know-it-alls -- of post-religious, globalist intellectuals (a.k.a. PORGIs). As I've said before -- many others have too -- you can't graduate class after class after class of left-indoctrinated ignoramuses without paying the price. Last night was a down payment.Mark Steyn at National Review:
But we've won civil wars and preserved the Union before. We'll do it again -- if we face up to the fact that we need to replace our schools and colleges now; the grace period has lasted a generation, but it's over.
A lot of the telly chatter is about how Republicans don't get the shifting demographics: America is becoming more of a "brown country," as Kirsten Powers put it on Fox. But New Hampshire is overwhelmingly white -- and the GOP still blew it. The fact is a lot of pasty, Caucasian, non-immigrant Americans have also "shifted," and are very comfortable with Big Government, entitlements, micro-regulation, Obamacare and all the rest -- and not much concerned with how or if it's paid for.Joel Pollak, reporting from Breitbartistan:
If this is the way America wants to go off the cliff, so be it.
Our fault, as a nation, was to forget the lessons of our own success. Having triumphed in a global, decades-long struggle against collectivism and totalitarianism, we refused to celebrate that victory, failing for twenty years to teach its lessons to the next generation.Oh, and I'll throw in Brian Kilmeade on Fox & Friends asserting that if Americans really did vote Obama because of his response to Hurricane Sandy (which, as the all-knowing Nate Silver has pointed out, is unlikely), then America is "the shallowest country in the history of man."
And as Andrew Breitbart often reminded us, the most important battles must be cultural ones, because culture and media inevitably shape the political choices we make together.
That war must begin anew.
Why do right-wingers hate America?

UPDATE: Via Fox Nation, Ted Nugent also hates America:
Goodluk America u just voted for economic & spiritual suicide. Soulless fools
— Ted Nugent (@TedNugent) November 7, 2012
Pimps whores & welfare brats & their soulless supporters hav a president to destroy America
— Ted Nugent (@TedNugent) November 7, 2012
What subhuman varmint believes others must pay for their obesity booze cellphones birthcontrol abortions & lives
— Ted Nugent (@TedNugent) November 7, 2012
They hate America because it refuses to look and believe and act like them -- and since they are the True Americans, and deviation therefrom is heresy and treason.
ReplyDeleteThe more frank they are about what they stand for the more frank is the peoples' rejection.
ReplyDeleteThe more clearly they oppose everything progressivism has done for America since the start of the 20th Century the more clearly America rejects them and what they want.
The more they insist Big Government is America's enemy the more obvious it is that Big Government is the enemy of the plutocracy and the tool by which the people assert their own control of the economy, including the rich and the corporations.
If they keep it up we can probably get the American voters to recognize that "liberalism" and even "socialism" are far from dirty words naming scary enemies, but "capitalism" is.
"Do not rejoice in his defeat, you men. For though the world has stood up and stopped the bastard, the bitch that bore him is in heat again."
ReplyDelete"The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had flyers distributed in Stalin Way that said
That the People had frivolously
Thrown away the Government's Confidence
And that they could only regain it
Through Redoubled Work. But wouldn't it be
Simpler if the Government
Simply dissolved the People
And elected another?"
Bertolt Brecht
GOP:
ReplyDeleteYou ain't birthin' enough angry white men and women.
So, get to it, and GO FUCK YOURSELVES!!!
These conservatives don't sound like they Believe in America. I guess the Believe in American mantra only applies if conservatives are elected and if teh gay marriage is defeated. Which by the way, it wasn't. Gay marriage wins, again, this time at the box office. I wonder what next step conservatives will demand marriage equality supporters satisfy before granting it legitimacy.
ReplyDeleteThe answer Nugent is fishing for in that last tweet: Coons.
ReplyDeleteDoes the Ni-CLANG event horizon reset after the election or do we just continue lurching towards it?
Hey, did anyone check their local polling places today to see if that Republican wave finally arrived?
ReplyDeleteThey always were a tad S-L-O-W…
I'm intrigued by this idea to "replace" the schools and colleges. Sounds rather involved, maybe even expensive. Can't wait for the next GOPteabag team to proclaim their commitment to this grandiouse and intrusive project of conservative political correctness.
ReplyDeleteNah, Bulworth, an example of that replacement of schools & colleges already exists here in Tx. We call it "football".
ReplyDeleteBring on the hate-filled spittle flecked scat-storm of bile!
ReplyDelete"Why do right-wingers hate America?" you ask? Obviously they hate us for our freedom.
