Rudy Giuliani, who has nothing better to do with his life, is lecturing Democrats again:
Giuliani: Ambassador Would Still Be Alive If Obama Administration Reacted To Libya Attack DifferentlyThat would be this Rudy Giuliani:
Mitt Romney campaign surrogate Rudy Giuliani ... told Fox News's Bill Hemmer that the Americans at the [U.S.] consulate [in Benghazi, Libya], including the late Ambassador Chris Stevens, "didn't have to die if there were a competent reaction that wasn't controlled by political spin":
GIULIANI: The reality is, when you close your eyes to what's going on you get attacked without recognizing you're getting attacked....
Giuliani [deserves] the blame for putting the city's emergency-command center in the World Trade Center, an obvious, and once-attacked, terrorist target. The former mayor was warned, in writing, about the inherent flaws in the choosing the site, and was offered a better and more effective alternative, but Giuliani moved forward anyway....Oh, but Giuliani had the terror commander at the World Trade Center set up just the way he liked it:
So, why is it, exactly, that Giuliani picked the WTC site? The mayor personally established a specific standard: he had to be able to walk to the command center from his office. ("I've never seen in my life 'walking distance' as some kind of a standard for crisis management," said Lou Anemone, the highest-ranking uniformed officer in the NYPD. "But you don't want to confuse Giuliani with the facts.")
Giuliani's office had a humidor for cigars and mementos from City Hall, including a fire horn, police hats and fire hats, as well as monogrammed towels in his bathroom. His suite was bulletproofed and he visited it often, even on weekends, bringing his girlfriend Judi Nathan there long before the relationship surfaced. He had his own elevator. So, in conclusion:
For the city, this meant that on 9/11, the NYC make-shift command center didn't exist until seven hours after the attack. As for Giuliani's poor judgment, the most rational conclusion is that he put his center in the wrong place because he was creating a "convenient love nest."This is the guy wagging his finger at the White House.
This sounds like Senator David Vitter lecturing Governor Spitzer on how to tip his hookers.
ReplyDeleteRudy, "A noun, a verb, and 9/11" needs to remember that most people in NYC wanted him OUT, 'cause he wanted a nookie palace, instead of a secure place in Brooklyn or Queens.
What kind of a moron puts his "Command Center" in a building that was already attacked?
A Conservative one.
How can we hate them enough?
ReplyDeletePoliticians, I mean.
Please, tell me.
RG put the command center in Building #7 (which actually was not part of the WTC complex) both because he wanted it convenient as a love nest and because he wanted to give money to Larry Silverstein. Silverstein owned Building #7 and had a lease on managing the WTC complex. (Real Estate is the life blood of politics.)
