Mondoweiss reports:
The leader of the organization reportedly behind the anti-Muslim film sparking angry protests in the Middle East spoke at a rally opposing the Park 51 Islamic center in lower Manhattan last year. That rally, on September 11, 2010, was organized by Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, two leading Islamophobic activists and bloggers in the U.S.There's also this, from Max Blumenthal, about Steve Klein, who also worked with the filmmakers:
The California-based Press Telegram reports today that an organization called Media for Christ produced the Islamophobic film at the center of the controversy...
The head of Media for Christ is Joseph [Nasralla] Abdelmasih, the Press Telegram reports....
Abdelmasih spoke at Geller's and Spencer's anti-mosque rally in Manhattan in 2010....
"Wake up America!" said Abdelmasih, to a crowd of flag-waving Americans. He said the mosque will be built "over my dead body."
It appears Klein (or someone who shares his name and views) is an enthusiastic commenter on Geller's website, Atlas Shrugged, where he recently complained about Mitt Romney's "support for a Muslim state in Israel's Heartland." In July 2011, Spencer's website, Jihad Watch, promoted a rally Klein organized alongside the anti-Muslim Coptic extremist Joseph Nasrallah to demand the firing of LA County Sheriff Lee Baca, whom they painted as a dupe for Hamas.

And one bit of ridiculousness that has nothing to do with Pam Geller: Joe. My. God. reports that one of the stars of the film is Tim Dax, a gay porn actor. (Dax is one of many performers who claim they didn't know what the film was about, and who say their dialogue was dubbed over.) Dax was apparently recognizable to some viewers because of the star tattoos on his nipples.
Why is it that I'm not surprised to find Geller's hoofprints on this?
ReplyDeleteHm.
ReplyDeleteI've been misspelling her name for a week.
