If you're on welfare or Medicaid or unemployment insurance or food stamps or some combination, it was obvious years ago that right-wingers hate you. But on Fox and Friends Weekend this morning, Michelle Malkin (and at least one of the hosts) reminded us that right-wingers consider you a contemptible inferior being if you "merely" pull down a paycheck:
... in the interview, Malkin slammed President Obama's supporters. "Romney types, of course, are the ones who sign the front of the paycheck, and the Obama types are the one who have spent their entire lives signing the back of them," she said. That, to Malkin, is a withering putdown. Ha ha ha! Pathetic loser -- all you've ever done is work for a living!
Malkin is responding to an unimpeachably factual statement made to Charlie Rose in a recently released interview clip:
PRESIDENT OBAMA: ... if you're the head of a large private-equity firm or hedge fund, your job is to make money. It's not to create jobs. It's not even to create a successful business. It's to make sure you are maximizing returns for your investor. Now, that's appropriate. That's part of the American way. That's part of the system. But that doesn't necessarily make you qualified to think about the economy as a whole....(The clip as played on Fox is cut off there. The rest is: "But that doesn't necessarily make you qualified to think about the economy as a whole, because as president, my job is to think about the workers. My job is to think about communities, where jobs have been outsourced.")
Before she makes her sneering comment about all the disgusting people who merely endorse paychecks written by others after putting in a week's work, Malkin responds to what Obama has said:
MALKIN: ... I think that there's an underlying contempt for the profit motive that drives this economy, that somehow only [makes air quotes] "successful" businesses are those that avoid evil things like cost-cutting, which, of course, is what Romney is under -- attacked by by this tape.In other words: So what if Romney screwed workers. Shut up and eat your layoffs. Otherwise, you hate capitalism.
Then co-host Dave Briggs makes clear that, yes, the creation of jobs is an optional and incidental by-product of capitalism (which is pretty much what Malkin is angry at Obama for saying):
BRIGGS: Right, I mean, let's be honest: whether you're running Walmart, Coca-Cola, Nike, your job is to make money. A by-product often is creating jobs.Right -- jobs are a by-product. And not always. You got a problem with that, peon?
And not long after that, Malkin insults people who sign paychecks.
Workers? There it is. The right hates you.

UPDATE, MONDAY: Fox Nation readers find what Malkin said "inspiring."
Well, yeh, after all, who but a lowly peon signs a paycheck anyway, right? The masters of the universe, the punditocracy, the Villagers, the Right People never have to bother with such plebeian grubbiness; their fortunes flow seamlessly, electronically into whichever accounts they've designated for the largesse to reside in.
ReplyDeleteIt was really nice of Michelle to go on Fox news to share her views instead of confining them to her own cable network where she's the boss. I really appreciate that she's classy enough not to be one of those grubby little people who work for someone else.
ReplyDeleteAnd Friday was payday.
ReplyDeleteSo this shrewish hag,* the rest of the FOX Morning Zoo crew, and all of rest of they sycophants dependent on Wingnut Welfare, woke-Up and checked the balances on their accounts to make sure that that weeks d*ck-blowing, testicle massaging, ass-kissing, and sphincter-licking, had been properly rewarded by the people who SEND OUT the electronic checks - they, on the other hand, are the electronic recipients of their master's largess.
What a vile and venomous shrewish hag she is.
*My apologies if that seems sexist - it's the best description that I can think of for her.
Victor, I don't take offense at your description because I usually can't resist using the b-word to describe her. You showed remarkable restraint.
ReplyDeleteYou got a problem with that, peon?
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to think that Christie's bada bing style (or something with the same effect) may be all that can reliably work anymore for the GOP. Because even with more corporate money, it's getting harder to finesse, Reagan-style, the cold hard facts of Republican greed and denial. From here on, they'll have to sell more a joie de vivre in embracing one's inner power thug.
It may not be Christie himself who fully leads this new way, him being morbidly obese and all. But he (and sorry to say, Sarah Palin circa '08) are/were GOP trailblazers.
But, but [sputter] but... she's one of those. You know, brown skin. One of those "latinos", a flipino. Besides, it's just entertainment, man, parody... like Amos and Andy.
ReplyDeleteEvery check is somebody's paycheck, and I've signed the fronts of plenty.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet they watch Fox News with some sort of magic brain filter on that makes them just not see or hear anything that reveals that Fox, Murdoch, and the Republican Party are their class enemies.
ReplyDeleteAll they see is the noisy, stupid patriotism, the anachronistic anti-communism, the moronic denunciations of liberals for being both un-American and anti-American.
Oh, and for being n*****-lovers.
Weird, isn't it?
Like lemmings plunging into the sea with their eyes open.
