I AM ANDREW BREITBART, EXCEPT NOT DEAD, AND WEARING A BOW TIE, AND MUCH MORE INEPT AT HIDING MY DISTORTIONS OF PEOPLE'S VIDEOTAPED REMARKS

From a brief item by Michelle Fields, posted at Tucker Carlson's Daily Caller:

Sandra Fluke: Politicians should be required to pass pro-woman litmus test to get elected

Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke said on Tuesday that candidates running for office should have to pass a pro-woman litmus test in order to get elected.

Fluke, an advocate for the Obama administration's plan to force health insurers to cover birth control, was on Capitol Hill for a forum on "Opportunities and Challenges for a New Generation of Women," in celebration of Women's History Month.

"There should be a litmus test that they be pro-women so our votes have to include that requirement at least," Fluke said. "And it should be a litmus test that applies to male candidates as well." ...

I really don't even have to show you the tape to explain what's wrong with this, do I?

Fluke, who spoke at an event convened by Eleanor Holmes Norton, D.C.'s vote-deprived congresswoman, isn't arguing that being pro-woman ought to be a legal requirement for being elected -- she's arguing that women (and feminist men) ought to demand pro-women policies of the politicians for whom they vote. (She wants elected officials to come through on the issues she feels strongly about just like -- duh! -- every other individual or group that has strong opinions. Like anti-tax zealots. Like anti-abortion hard-liners. Like NRA members. All those folks refuse to vote for people who don't agree with them on particular issues. Yet even I wouldn't run the headline "NRA: Politicians Should Be Required to Pass Pro-Second Amendment Litmus Test to Get Elected" ... although I imagine a lot of NRA members actually think that should be a legal requirement.)

Here's the clip:

Breitbart, at least, would have deceitfully edited this and the accompanying article. When it comes to slipping this kind of distortion past people, the Daily Caller folks are pikers.
