SCIENCE IS A VERB NOW

It's a refreshing change of pace to have a President with a cabinet full of people who actually understand the subject matter they are in charge of.  Like Energy Secretary Stephen Chu being a brilliant physicist, for example.
Obama has also called in some of the many scientists on the federal payroll, led by Energy Secretary Steven Chu, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist. Chu at one point pushed the unusual idea of using gamma rays to peer into the blowout preventer to determine if its valves were closed, a technique he experimented with in graduate school while studying radioactive decay.

The suggestion at first elicited snickering and "Incredible Hulk" jokes. Then they tried it, and it worked. "They weren't hot on his ideas," a senior White House official said of BP's initial reaction to Chu's suggestions. "Now they are."
I dunno guys, maybe we should have listened to him in the first place.  This doesn't exactly fill me with confidence in BP's engineers, who are supposedly the experts in deep water drilling operations, to pass up somebody with Dr. Chu's well-demonstrated expertise and assistance.

An energy secretary who is a scientist that specializes in...energy.  Nobel Prize, even. Perhaps we should let him...science...at this oil gusher thing for a while.  What I want to know is why BP would even be making "Incredible Hulk" jokes when they need to be starting any side-splitters they come up with with the phrase "Hey did you hear about the oil company that destroyed the Gulf Coast and went bankrupt?"

I hear that one's hysterical.
