GOSH, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?

Yeah, how could this possibly turn out badly?

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder called legislation that would allow guns in the terminal of the nation's busiest airport "very worrisome."

... Last week, the Georgia Legislature passed a bill that would permit loaded weapons to be carried in the publicly accessible parts of airports in the state not controlled by the federal government. That includes Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world's busiest.

Governor Sonny Perdue has yet to signal whether he would sign the bill.

Heck, it's not as if you could get from Atlanta to anyplace that's a terrorist target, right?

Y'know, I'm really looking forward to the day when wingers, tenthers, and gun lobbyists have established their paradise on earth. There'll be no federal regulation whatsoever -- and, surely, little or no state regulation -- of firearms manufactured entirely in some individual states. All purchases of such weapons and ammunition will be made using state- or local-based currencies or barter because U.S.-based currencies won't be recognized as legal tender. And if any bad guys who want to take advantage of the system, only local law enforcement authorities will be allowed to track them, because local sheriffs will be able to deny the feds permission to operate in the area.

Ah, freedom! Wouldn't it be wonderful?
