JUST ANOTHER ORDINARY MOM WITH A STATE-OF-THE-ART HOME TV STUDIO BUILT BY A MULTI-BILLION-DOLLAR MEDIA CONGLOMERATE

Oh, this is brilliant:

Without leaving home, Sarah Palin will be able to reach much of her political base, courtesy of a soon-to-be-built television studio in her living room paid for by her newest media patron, Fox News....

That's from a New York Times article about Sarah Palin's ever-expanding political operation and ever-larger circle of advisers. Really, what to do when the (ersatz) jes'-folks gal goes big time? Why, you create a phony stage set, a Potemkin Breakfast Nook, where she can do what she needs to do to advance her goals while pretending to be what her fan base thinks she is! Hell, phony worked for Bush -- remember the ranch?

Of course, it probably isn't even necessary -- Palin's been making big bucks, she's been spending most of her time lately in the Lower 48, she's been hanging out with Oprah and Baba Wawa ... and yet here's a teabagger in Nashville talking about Palin:

... Chuck Smith, a 66-year-old convention-goer from the Knoxville area, said "it may be too early for the movement to have a leader. I think Sarah Palin is more of a symbol of a grass-roots, everyday, hard-working American fighting back against Big Government."

She's "grass-roots" and "everyday" because she just ... is. Or maybe she isn't "grass-roots" and "everyday," but it's OK because she's "a symbol of" "grass-roots" and "everyday" -- which is just as good! Really!

Oh, hell, Rupert -- you're just being cautious, but I bet you could build the TV studio in a Park Avenue penthouse and her fans wouldn't even know the difference.
