NO GOP FIRST LADY WOULD EVER BE THAT GAUCHE ... OOPS!

From Britain's Daily Mail:

Michelle Obama is to be the first presidential wife to appear on a reality TV series.

The First Lady will make a guest appearance on 'Iron Chef America' ...

Many of the ingredients for the meals prepared in the show were chosen from the recently planted White House vegetable garden....

It is the first time a First Lady, or even a member of the White House staff, has featured in a TV reality show....

The move is likely to open up the White House to more criticism over its increasing links to Hollywood.

... an editorial in Esquire magazine today called Mr Obama 'the Megan Fox of the White House', slamming him for governing by image instead of policy, and lamenting pop culture's takeover of politics....

Yeah! How dare these people! Why can't they be more like the Bushes? Laura Bush wouldn't have dreamed of doing something like this!

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition got a special guest star during a taping Tuesday: First Lady Laura Bush.

"It's going to take all of these (volunteers) working together to help people rebuild their lives," Bush said in the hot and crowded Biloxi (Miss.) Community Center, where a mountain of donated clothes covered a stage in preparation to be handed out.

The first lady -- with Preston Sharp, a designer on the ABC reality show, at her side -- greeted storm victims and dispensed the donated items from large plastic bins, the Associated Press reports.

While her husband's administration has been criticized for initially appearing detached from the relief effort ... Mrs. Bush said she was encouraged by the way governments, private organizations, faith-based groups and individuals were helping ease the suffering caused by the Aug. 29 hurricane....

Governing by image instead of policy? Thank God the Bushes were above all that, hunh?
