ANOTHER DISPATCH FROM A PARALLEL UNIVERSE

Peggy Noonan today, writing about Hillary Clinton in the aftermath of Iowa and the run-up to New Hampshire:

... national reporters and editors, liberated by what they thought her impending demise, rushed to get on record as never having liked her.

Oh, yeah, right -- because, prior to that, the press had been so upbeat and positive about Hillary Clinton's ambition and Hillary Clinton's honesty and Hillary Clinton's financial probity and Hillary Clinton's ability to play well with others and Hillary Clinton's hair and Hillary Clinton's voice and Hillary Clinton's relationship to her freaking cat. So, yes, that brief moment of press negativity about Clinton represented a real change, didn't it?
