FALL OF THE HOUSE OF BUSH

Marked down to 50% off at Barnes & Noble and Amazon, even though it was published only two months ago:

As I've explained a couple of times before, this is what happens to a new book when the publisher and booksellers realize that far too many copies were printed and it'll be impossible to unload them at anything close to list price. The book is said to be "remaindered in place" -- the bookseller slaps on a 50%-off sticker (which is what's happened at my neighborhood bricks-and-mortar B&N) and everyone just hopes the extra markdown will be enough to get the white elephant to sell.

More evidence that the mighty have fallen? Shed a tear....
