A word of warning: If Democrats take back one or both houses of Congress this year, the conventional wisdom in the Beltway is going to be that the Democratic majority wasn't really chosen legitimately, that the Mark Foley scandal deprived Republicans of the political dominance which is their birthright, and which the voters really wanted them to have. This will be the case despite the fact that Democrats have looked strong in polls all year.

I'm not saying the Democrats have to take this crap -- I'm just saying that the usual GOP enablers in the media will try their damnedest to proclaim it as objective fact. In other words, Democrats are going to have to keep fighting for control even if they apparently win it.
