HOPE IS NOT A STRATEGY

“Gut alone is crazy. Why do gut when you can go with objective information? Hope is not a strategy. And gut instincts are always less effective than objective analysis.”

Who said it?
A. George W. Bush, President
B. Dick Cheney, Vice President
C. Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State
D. Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense
E. Ken Mehlman, RNC Chairman
Ah, well. Best laid plans and all of that.

It took all of a year to go from Mehlman's formulation of Republicans as “the party of Lincoln and Frederick Douglass" to "the party of Katrina and sanctioned torture."

Hope is not a strategy, but strategy may be the Democrats' only hope. Are they up to it?
