Jamal al-Harith, a Briton of Jamaican extraction who's now a Muslim and who spent two years in Guantanamo, tells his story (15-hour shacklings, beatings and humiliations of prisoners, vile food) in today's edition of England's Daily Mirror. Here's the main story; here's a sidebar in which he recounts abuse he says he suffered in the prison; here's another sidebar with his story of what led to his capture (ironically, he says he was beaten in an Afgahan prison during the Taliban's rule because he was suspected of being a British spy). The stories are loading very slowly as I write this -- Matt Drudge, to his credit, is linking them. Here's a roundup of U.K. press reactions to the release of British Guantanamo prisoners.
