Out income inequality (in any age bracket) is becoming disastrous within this culture.

Sadly, there are lots of Americans who do not receive SS payments when they retire: their SS income taxes were never "deducted" from their wages by their employers, domestic workers, farm workers etc.

And then there is the additional fact of racism: Whenever the government has raised the benefits age, it just so happens, it is raised to the average age of African American male deaths. Unintended consequences usually aren't...unintended.
Pallihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06610910291627363042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3856837.post-29822013078882395932012-11-27T11:25:03.252-05:002012-11-27T11:25:03.252-05:00My sister and brother-in-law are trying to get his...My sister and brother-in-law are trying to get his mother and father into some sort of retirement home/mental institution.

And it's incredible how difficult it is to get two people, his mother, who has Alzheimer's, and his father who is insane, INTO a facility - let alone keep them there, and make sure it's not some torture chamber masquerading as an adult care facility.
Since his parents came to America already in their 50's, the only jobs they could get were menial ones - so, of course, they have no assetts like a home.
(My brother-in-law was bright and young when he came here, so he was able to get better jobs, and has a job with the county as an Engineer. And marrying my sister, who's a very stable person, has been great for him. He got a 2 year degree. They have two childen and a house. My nephew just started college, and my niece is persuing her Doctorate in Oboe performance).

And these were all barriers that started under Reagan. Some of them under the guise in individual rights and liberties.
The barriers were, of course, put up so less and less people, who are living longer and longer, could benefit All in the name of tax cuts for the wealthiest among us - who don't need to worry about things like how much a facility costs, or how nasty it is, since they and their families can afford the best care possible.

In this country, as long as you have the money, there are no boundries, and no limits.
If you don't have the money - you are totally fecked!

Paid taxes your whole life, and have little or nothing to show for it?
Well, kick back and remember fondly all of the wars and occupations we got into since Korea, and how you paid payroll taxes on all of your income, but the rich, who want to cut everyone's 'Earned Benefits,' because THEY don't need them, only paid on their first few dollars - all the rest is pure profit.

Conservatives don't learn. They just double-down and get angrier - even if the victims of their anger, are themselves.Victorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06609452382111686086noreply@blogger.com
