I think it's because the people bankrolling those super PACs, for all their wealth, are just Fox News louts who wanted hate-ads, not effective ads, for their money."

Could it also be a factor that they are limited in not specifically endorsing a candidate? Isn't it the case that they would never have been able to specifically tout Mitt Romney, under our weak but still existing campaign finance regulations?Arturo Uihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03447359627539270032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3856837.post-66860408191849577782012-11-09T11:43:10.156-05:002012-11-09T11:43:10.156-05:00"I don't know why he didn't say, &quo..."I don't know why he didn't say, "Look, I know he's a Kenyan Muslim socialist who's deliberately destroying America with dependency, but saying that is not how we're going to destroy him."

He did, actually - it was one of the overlooked portions of the 47% tape. Why he didn't follow through, yeah, that's a good question.

As is: Why did he evidently think that self-financing would look plutocratic and wrong but taking millions of dollars from Sheldon Adelson wouldn't cause a perception problem.

And yeah, it's just started hitting me yesterday and today that they really thought they were winning. I think the evidence is mounting ...Evil or stupid? I think the evidence is mounting for the stupid. The most shocking thing for me was how widespread the delusions were. The entire conservative movement really truly seemed to believe that the polls were all wrong, that their gut was more reliable than the actual numbers. It just never occurred to me that the attacks on science were sincere. So, my tentative answer to the age-old question: capitalism is evil, of course, but its Randian defenders are merely profoundly stupid.
