HEY NEWT, JEALOUS OF PALIN MUCH?

The subscription-only Publishers Lunch recently noted a forthcoming book from Regnery:

Jackie Gingrich Cushman's THE ESSENTIAL AMERICAN: 21 Documents and Speeches Every American Should Read, with a foreword by former Speaker Newt Gingrich...

It will include

the fundamental documents of our nation's history, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, the text of speeches that have inspired the nation, including Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and President Ronald Reagan's "Tear Down This Wall" Speech, as well as several lesser-known documents and speeches that forged our nation's character....

So Newt's fortysomething daughter is publishing a book of inspirational patriotic readings. Hmmm ... where else have I heard about a fortysomething female right-winger publishing a patriotic anthology?

Sarah Palin's second book will be entitled "America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag." It will be released on November 23rd.

... The nation's founding documents will be included, the publisher said, as well as "great speeches, sermons, letters, literature and poetry, biography, and even some of her favorite songs and movies." ...

And, yes, Amazon confirms that Palin's book will be published November 23. Know when the Gingriches' book is going to be published? November 22.

Jealous much, Newt?

One more forthcoming book reported by Publishers Lunch, this one to be published by Mary Matalin's Threshold imprint:

Republican Whip Congressman Eric Cantor (Virginia), Congressman Paul Ryan (Wisconsin), and Republican Chief Deputy Whip Kevin McCarthy (California)'s YOUNG GUNS: A New Generation of Conservative Leaders, taking their belief in the principles that have made America great and translating it into solutions that will make the America's future even better -- solutions that will create private sector jobs, and maximize individual freedom....

Young Guns? Really? Sorry, but the first thing that comes to mind when I hear that phrase is this:
