I GUESS WE DON'T MISS BUSH YET ALL THAT MUCH

Tee-hee -- well, you know that Sarah Palin's book got to #1 on the New York Times bestseller list in her first week on the chart, as did Mitt Romney's (the latter with the help of some bulk buying). I thought the much-hyped Karl Rove book would do the same, selling by the truckload to the 22-percenters who never stopped loving W., but the new Times list has been sent out via e-mail and, well, Karl had to settle for #2.

This is #1:

Mitt, by the way, drops to #4 (even though the list says the bulk buys are ongoing).

Disturbingly, this is #6:

AMERICAN CONSPIRACIES, by Jesse Ventura with Dick Russell. (Skyhorse, $24.95.)
The former Minnesota governor questions the official explanation of events like the Kennedy assassination and 9/11.

Even if we're not experiencing full-fledged Bush nostalgia, I guess we're doomed as a civilization if even moderately large numbers of people are buying that one.

(This list will appear in the March 21 Times. It'll be on the Times Web site this coming weekend.)
