FUND-RAISING FROM RICH PEOPLE? REPUBLICANS WOULD NEVER DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT!

John McCain talks about one fund-raiser that took place yesterday:

...Republican John McCain lost no time pointing out Obama was courting the stars instead of ordinary folk.

"(He) talks about siding with the people, siding with the people -- just before he flies off to Hollywood for a fundraiser with Barbra Streisand and his celebrity friends," McCain told a rally in Vienna, Ohio, a critical battleground state. "Let me tell you my friends, there's no place I'd rather be than here with the working men and women of Ohio." ...

Funny, he somehow neglected to mention this fund-raiser that took place yesterday:

...first lady Laura Bush showed up ... Tuesday at a private McCain fundraiser that drew more than 100 local Republicans and raised more than $1 million in campaign donations.

The afternoon reception [was] hosted by Anne and John Marion....

Attendees paid amounts ranging from $2,500 per person to $57,000....
